Following a complete refurbishment, the Banyuls-sur-Mer Aquarium has entered a new era, in keeping with the aspirations of our time: promoting the local living heritage, respecting animal welfare and highlighting major environmental issues. Nearly 300 species emblematic of the Catalan coast (grouper, seahorses, jellyfish, coral, etc.) thrive in settings designed to represent their natural habitats as faithfully as possible. Experience a dive into the heart of the Cerbère-Banyuls Marine Nature Reserve whilst staying dry!

Thanks to a unique behind-the-scenes tour of the Oceanographic Observatory’s research laboratories, it offers an experience unlike any other in Europe.

ONIRIA MORE THAN AN AQUARIUM - It's a new-generation aquarium offering an immersive journey to the heart of the world of water, to understand all the secrets of its metamorphoses.
Following a fun, interactive trail, visitors can slip into the shoes of a drop of water that will take 1,000 years to travel around the world. And by contemplating the progress of this molecule in all its physical states (water, ice, vapour...), Oniria allows visitors to explore many of the planet's ecosystems, but not only!
Corals, invertebrates, tropical fish, sharks... ONIRIA is shaped by 83 tanks of all sizes. The site, dedicated to education and entertainment, offers unique virtual and multi-sensory experiences that make immersion in the different environments even more realistic.
And that's not all! Sensation" rooms, holograms and virtual sea monsters will cross your path.
